Frequently Asked Questions
What is Aloid?
Aloid is a web app that connects you with real people through identity-private, encrypted one-on-one calls. Aloid matches by emotional context, not follower counts or random roulette.
Is Aloid free to use?
Yes. Aloid offers a free tier with 80 tokens/day and 20-minute max calls. Student ($4.99/mo) and Pro ($9.99/mo) plans add monthly token balances, longer sessions, priority matching, and more features.
Are my video calls private and secure?
Absolutely. Calls use encrypted WebRTC, and Aloid does not record or store video/audio call content. Safety safeguards are built into the call flow.
How does matching work?
You describe how you're feeling in your own words. Aloid looks for shared emotional context and connects you with someone aligned with that moment.
Do I need to download an app?
No downloads needed. Aloid runs entirely in your web browser. Just visit aloid.tech, allow camera access, and start connecting.
Can I find someone I talked to before?
Pro users can add up to 30 favorites and reconnect with past matches. Student users can save 10 favorites. Free users start fresh each time.
What if someone is inappropriate?
Aloid uses safety safeguards, account strikes, skip, and reporting tools to reduce inappropriate behavior without recording calls. You can skip or report any user instantly.
Is my identity revealed?
No. Your real name, email, and account identity are not shown to matches. You control what you share in conversation.
What's the Student plan?
The Student plan is $4.99/month with longer sessions, stronger matching priority, and 30 skips per day. You need a verified .edu or .ac.uk email address to qualify.
How do subscriptions and refunds work?
Paid plans renew monthly and billing is managed from Settings. Refund requests are eligible only if no paid-plan tokens have been used after the latest confirmed payment.
